Klunkers is a bike maintenance app. This page explains what it keeps about you and your bikes, and who can see it. In short: your garage is yours, and nobody else sees it.

What Klunkers keeps

• Your email address and a scrambled (hashed) copy of your password.
• Your bikes, parts, jobs, notes, photos, voice notes and service history.
• For each ride: when it started, how far it went, how long it took, the climbing and its name. Never the route.

Where you are

A note made on the trail can record where you were, so you can find the spot again. Only you can see it. Locations are left out of anything you export or share, including the service history you give a buyer.

Apple Health and Health Connect

In the phone apps, Klunkers can import your bike rides from Apple Health on iPhone and Health Connect on Android, to work out how worn your bike’s parts are.

• It reads cycling workouts only: when each ride started, how far it went and how long it took. It never reads the route, your heart rate or any other health data.
• It reads them only when you ask it to and allow it.
• It keeps the start time, distance and ride time of the rides you choose to import, to add up the wear on your parts.
• You can take away access at any time in the Health Connect or Health app settings. Rides already imported stay until you delete them.

Strava

If you connect Strava, Klunkers imports your bike rides’ summary figures (as above) and the name of the bike you rode. It shows them only to you, never uses them for AI or analytics, and removes a ride when you delete it on Strava. Disconnect at any time in Settings or on Strava; rides already imported stay until you delete them.

AI features

AI features only run when you ask: splitting a note into jobs, naming a part from a photo, or suggesting causes for a problem. The AI service receives what that request needs, such as the note, the photo, or your parts and how worn they are. It never receives your individual rides or anything from Strava. Every suggestion waits for you to confirm it.

Who sees your data

Only you. Klunkers doesn’t sell your data, share it with advertisers, or show your garage to anyone else. It uses service providers to run: hosting, email for password resets, and the AI service when you use AI features.

Deleting your data

You can delete rides, photos, notes and bikes in the app at any time. To close your account and delete everything, email privacy@klunkers.bike.
